03-02-08: All the jams are in, and it's going to take a few months of post production to put the comic book together.
Here's some things I have on my to do list:
Your patience is appreciated! Read below to see how the jam came about.

How do I do a panel for the jam?
If nobody has done the panel for your state already on the map above, contact me via email to confirm your place. Please give me your address too so I can send the jam out to you via US mail.
What happens after I confirm to do a panel?
After I have confirmed your request via email, I will send you the jam for your specific state via US mail in an envelope. The jam is printed on a postcard (with a stamp already affixed), so all you'll need to do is complete the jam and put it in the mail to send it back to me. (If you think the postcard will get ruined in the mail, you can send the postcard back to me in an envelope instead.) If the jam is not returned by the "expiration date" that I list on the jam (which should be about a month), another artist will get a chance to do the panel.
Who can participate?
Anyone who can draw and write. You don’t have to be into “comics” to contribute, and you don’t have to be a certain age either.
Can I split the duties of the panel?
Yeah. If someone wants to draw for the panel and someone else wants to write it, go for it. Both writer and artist need to be from the state they're doing a panel for though. Also keep in mind that I’ll be sending out one free book per panel.
What media can I use to draw on the panel?
You can use any media you want, but keep in mind that it will have to translate well to a black and white print out. The panels will also be shrunk slightly to fit in the comic page.
What size is Izzy anyway?
Some people draw Izzy the regular size of a mouse. Some people make Izzy look as big as a human. It's all ok in my perspective. View the other izzy challenge jams on this wiki to see what others have done.
When will it be done?
I started this in January 2007, but I’m not sure when it’ll be done. Hopefully by word getting out over the internet here and there it won’t take years to get done, but we'll see.
What if I change addresses before you get it done?
If this issue takes over a year to get done, I’ll probably send out a note using your contact information. The note will tell you how you’re listed in the book, and ask you if you want to change anything. If you move before then and want to update me as to your change of address or whatever, feel free to send it along to me.
How big will the issue of this comic be?
I’m planning that it’s going to be a 16 page black and white digest size comic like many of my other Izzy comics.
Can I reprint my panel?
I’m going to go with the same deal as I’ve done for my other jams in that you have copyright permission from me to print the page that your panel appeared on in any publication that you wish. However, you cannot print up the whole book in its entirety.
Why are you doing this whole thing by mail?
I like mail. Plus, it ensures that the people contributing are indeed from the state they say they are.
I live in somewhere that's not listed on the map (Washington DC, Puerto Rico, other countries, etc.).... Can I contribute?
Not really. The size of this comic is only going to allow for the fifty states I’m afraid. If there’s interest, maybe Izzy could tour other places in a future book.
What if you don’t use my panel?
I don’t really want to exclude panels in general, but I might decide to ask for a revision if something isn’t exactly “all ages” or if it’s something I just don’t get. If I decide to not print your panel for whatever reason, you will still get a free copy of the book. If you’ve put the effort in, I think at least you deserve a free book.
Define “living” in a state?
Well... I know this can be tricky for some people. I’d say that whatever state you spend the most time in is good enough for me. Whatever state you’re claim to be from, make sure I can send you mail there.
Where did you get the idea for this jam?
This is a comic adaptation of a comedy improv game called “sideshow.” I first saw this game played by Comedy Wars, MU’s own improv comedy troupe.
Are you related to Scott McCloud?
Nope. I had no idea until recently that Scott was on a 50 state tour. His daughter, also named Winter, happens to be along for the tour as well it seems.
